If there is anything such as the perfect personality my daughter Allison has it. She is the most sweet, caring, adventurous, creative, curious and goofy kid. I believe her personality makes her well liked. Every time I drop her off at school the other kids jump up in excitement and run over to hug her.
The other day when I picked her up from daycare she had an unpleasant look on her face. When I asked her what was wrong she replied, “That girl doesn’t like me.” This was the first time she ever came across someone who didn’t like her and she seemed confused as to why. So I explained to her that you simply cannot make everyone happy. There will be people who do not like you for whatever reason but as long as there are more people that like you than not, you will be just fine. I also added that maybe she had a rough day.
My reply might have been a little too complex for a seven year old but it seemed to satisfy her. As an adult, sometimes I have to remind myself of that too. It’s especially hard when the reason someone doesn’t like you doesn’t seem very valid. So I write this with encouragement to show other love more than they show you.
“Love comes more naturally to the human heart than it’s opposite.” – Nelson Mandela
Style: I do not usually wear prints but I am not opposed to them either. When I came across this dress I fell in love with the print and then the shoulder. The weather in San Antonio has been perfect for a dress like this and I was excited to wear it. I am wearing a medium and I am a size six.
