Respect

Respect is a powerful word. It is unspoken appreciation, a kind gesture. It’s showing someone you care about their feelings and their well-being regardless if you know them personally. It is not only given to others but something you have for yourself. There isn’t a single person that doesn’t want respect.

Some people say, “You give respect to get respect.”  That is saying you only give respect to those who respect you. So unless they are nice to you, you are going to treat them badly.

Imagine pulling up to a Mc Donald’s drive through. Immediately you hear, “Can I take your order?” They haven’t exactly given you any respect with their question. Now insert the “give respect to get respect” theory. You treat the person who is preparing the food you are about to put into your body unfavorably. It is likely that you will not be happy with your order.

Every single person on this earth has a story, a reason why they are in the situation they are in at the moment. Everyone struggles with something beyond the surface. That is why it is important to give respect to EVERYONE.

Say please and thank you, hold a door (yes, women too), give a compliment, be sincere... Most importantly, give people the benefit of a doubt.

Side note: you’re more likely to receive help when you aren’t being ugly.

Style:

I'm really digging this long maxi skirt, especially the army green color. I personally think these skirts go great with a good crop top and I had just the one already in my closet. Another option to pair with the skirt could be a bodysuit an opened up button down.
