Spring Beauty Picks
Spring represents birth and new beginnings, which gives you a great reason to clean out you make up drawer. Included are a few items that I have stocked up on for spring and absolutely love.
I've been a fan of Sephora for many years. I'll admit that there are some worthwhile drug store items out there but there are also many products at Sephora that the drug stores can't beat. Tarte would be one of them. If you aren't familiar, taste is a high performance natural brand. Think of Bare Minerals on steroids. The product of theirs I love the most also happens to be the product for your face that I feel is the most important. It's their Amazonian clay full coverage foundation. It's great for those with oily skin who want a product that will last all day. They clay is awesome because it absorbs oily and it's a little thicker than most foundations. Because it's thicker, you can get away with using just a little bit. In fact, this has lasted me over nine months. This is definitely a product that I'll continue to use over and over again. I used this on hot and humid summer vacations and it did not disappoint. Grab it for $38.
Now, the Amazonian clay foundation can be applied with your fingers or a sponge but I highly recommend investing in this Airbrush finish foundation brush. This brush was specifically made to work with the foundation and it does so beautifully. Just dab a few spots of the foundation onto your face and blend with the brush in a circular motion. It really does look airbrushed and it's only $32.
Your fountain wouldn't be complete without a finishing powder. Not only is it translucent but it diffuses imperfections and improves the look of your skin. With this, it almost looks like i'm not wearing make up. It's just $32. If you plan on buying all of the three Tarte products I have mentioned then I suggest you purchase them from their website. It's a little cheaper than Sephora. You will get free shipping and a sample. Plus, if you sign up for their newsletter you will get a code for 20% off. You can't beat that.
Nars blush has won numerous awards. My favorite is the shade "Orgasm" It's a peachy pink with slight gold flakes, which makes it universally flattering. It's also the perfect shade for spring. Snag yours foe just $30.
I'm in love with this lip product from Too Faced. It has the shine of a gloss, the lasting power of a stain, and the pigment of a lipstick. Best part is it's only $21. My favorite color is Melted Violet - violet orchid. It has an applicator on the tip which makes it so easy to use. If you get anything, get this.
Of all products I'd say that I love eye make up the most. It's the thing I love to accentuate because the eyes are often what people see first when they look at you. During winter we wore many neutrals and smoky eyes. In the spirit of spring Too Faced has come out with this burst of fresh air. I absolutely love the colors in this palette. I personally wouldn't use them together but mix them with my neutrals from winter. Just a little pop of color on the eye goes a long way.
I hope my picks inspire you when picking out your new beauty products and if they do send me a message. I'd like to hear what you got and what you thought.
